Trees 20' from the center line of each road are in the town right of way and are considered town trees. Those outside the 20' range are considered private property. While there are currently no rules regulating tree activity on private property, tree "owners" are liable for any property damaged fallen limbs, etc., may cause to adjacent property. Maintenance questions with regard to trees in the town right of way should be addressed to the City's Public Works department.
